Planetary cameras take microphotographs of documents placed face up on the scan table and offer larger capture areas, while rotary cameras have document feeders allowing automated feeding of documents up to legal in size, to be fed into the camera for the capturing of both front and back of the image onto 16mm roll microfilm.
